Job Description – Grocery Delivery Boy

Position: Delivery Boy (Grocery Segment)

Job Purpose:

To ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery of grocery orders to customers, while maintaining professionalism, customer satisfaction, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Handling & Delivery

Collect grocery orders from warehouse/store as per allocation.

Verify items before leaving for delivery.

Deliver groceries to customers’ homes/offices within the given time slot.

Handle cash/card payments for COD orders and update payment status.

Customer Service

Communicate politely with customers and resolve minor delivery-related issues.

Maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Assist customers in checking items if required.

Operational Efficiency

Follow assigned delivery routes using GPS/mobile app.

Update order status in the delivery app in real-time.

Optimize routes to complete maximum deliveries within the shift.

Safety & Compliance

Obey traffic laws and company safety rules.

Keep delivery bag/box neat and clean.

Maintain hygiene standards, especially when handling food and groceries.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum qualification: 10th pass (12th pass preferred).

Must have a valid 2-wheeler driving license and RC.

Should own a bike/scooter with proper documents (insurance, PUC).

Smartphone with internet (mandatory for delivery app use).

Good knowledge of local routes and areas.

Ability to work in day/night shifts as per demand.

Skills Required:

Strong time management & punctuality.

Basic reading/writing & mobile app handling.

Customer service orientation.

Ability to lift and carry packages (up to 15–20 kg if required).

Teamwork and discipline.
