Namma Metro Pink Line in Bangalore Route

The line’s beginning point will be the Nagawara station, which serves as the Green Line’s interchange. Then it will go to Peenya Industrial Area, Jindal, Hebbal, Kempapura, Kodigehalli, Jalahalli, and Veerannapalya.

After Cantonment station, the route will travel on elevated tracks with stops at Pottery Town, Tannery Road, Venkateshpura, Arabic College, and Nagavara. The underground segment will cease at this point. At Kalena Agrahara South, an interchange station with the metro’s Yellow Line, the Namma Metro Pink Line route will ultimately come to an end.

Namma Metro Pink Line Ticketing & Fare

Namma Metro Pink Line Construction Status 

Elevated Section

BMRC released a tender for building an elevated section of  7.5 km of the Namma Metro Pink Line. 

The segment, which included a viaduct, five stops, and a depot entry line to Kothanur depot, was to be constructed between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere stations. The contract was awarded to Simplex Constructions in 2017 in the month of September. 

However, because of the poor development, their tender got canceled in February 2021.The remaining work was put out to new bids. The tender was given to GR Infra in July 2021 since they had the lowest bid.

Underground Section 

L&T began piling and pre-tunneling construction for the Namma Metro station on the Pink Line. 

2 TBMs, Lavi and Avni, are utilized for digging southward from Shivajinagar towards Rashtriya Military School. 

Tunnel boring utilizing TBMs started in August-September 2020 by L&T.

Other 2 TBMs (Vindhya and Urja) utilized for boring southwards from Cantonment to Shivajinagar.

In March and June of 2021, Afcons began tunneling using three TBMs: Vamika,  Rudra and Varada. The tunnel between Dairy Circle and Rashtriya Military School was bored with these TBMs. 

In October 2023, TBM Rudra finished all of the tunneling work between Lakkasandra and Langford Town Metro stations. 

In December 2023, another tunnel-digging TBM, Tunga, finished 1,184.4 meters of tunneling. 

ITD-Cem started tunnel works in June-August 2021 on the Venkateshpuram-Nagawara section.
