Since the 1990s, several areas of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai have had smooth connectivity thanks to the Harbour Line, a major branch of the Mumbai Suburban Railway Network. This line was given its name since it followed Mumbai’s natural harbor.

This 66-kilometer line, which serves the eastern regions of the city, has 32 stations and is connected to some of Mumbai’s main job centers by interchanges with the Western line. This is a comprehensive guide to the Harbour line, covering its routes, cost and schedules.

Routes of Harbour Line Mumbai

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Goregaon, and Panvel terminal stations of the Harbour line correspond to the routes Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Goregaon, Panvel-Goregaon, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Panvel. 

The Central and Harbour lines are parallel to one another. But the Harbour line goes straight east until it reaches Sewri, just before Sandhurst Road station. 

It splits at Wadala Road station into two branches. The first branch route finishes at Goregaon and enters Mahim Junction to join the Western line. The second branch line starts at Vashi and enters Navi Mumbai through Mankhurd. 

This route splits into two again at Navi Mumbai, one proceeds to Panvel, while the other follows the Trans-Harbour line to Thane.

Interchange Stations along the Harbor Line Mumbai 

The Harbour-Line route has multiple interchange stations. The following stations are where you can change trains

The stations where you can change for the Mumbai Central line are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Masjid, Sandhurst Road, Kurla, and Panvel. 

For the Western Line, change at the Mahim Junction, Santacruz, Vile Parle, Bandra, Andheri, Khar Road. The Western Line also uses Ram Mandir, Goregaon, and Jogeshwari as interchange stations. 

The Mumbai Mono Rail is accessible from the stations at Wadala Road and Chembur. Other stations include Panvel, Mansarovar, CBD Belapur, and Seawoods-Darave. 

The Trans Harbour-Line’s interchange stations are located in Kharghar, Nerul, and Khandeshwar. The Trans Harbour-Line allows you to switch trains from the stations in Juinagar, Vashi, and Sanpada.

Nerul, CBD Belapur, and Seawoods-Darave are the stations from which you can change trains for the Nerul Uran Line. 

Khandeshwar and Kharghar offer connectivity to the Navi Mumbai Metro.

Mumbai’s Harbour Line Train Schedule

Local trains on the Harbour Line typically run from 4 a.m. until 1 a.m. Trains arrive and depart on a regular basis during the day. Trains operating on the Harbour-Line move slowly. But still. This suggests that the Harbour-Line trains make stops at every station along their route, not that they travel slowly. Train fares for Harbour Line

Train rates for the Harbour Line in Mumbai are subject to change based on the class and the distance to be traveled. First Class fares range in price from 50 Rupees to 165 Rupees . A monthly pass costs 345 Rupees  for First Class and 1165 Rupees  for all other classes.

The monthly season ticket for First Class starts at 2530 Rupees  and gets as much as 325 Rupees. The Second Class cost on this route begins at 5 Rupees  and gets as high as 20 Rupees. Monthly passes or monthly season tickets are available for daily commuters. A Second Class monthly pass can be purchased for 100 Rupees – 615 Rupees depending on your needs.
