I’ve been lucky enough to experience some of the finest cars out there. From the cushy seats of a Bentley to the gadget-filled cabins of Teslas, I thought I’d pretty much seen it all. But then, I got behind the wheel of the Q8 by Audi, and suddenly, luxury had a whole new meaning.
You ever have that moment when you sit in a car and just… take it in? That was me with the Q8. The cabin feels like it was made just for you. It’s cozy, but not cramped; open, but not too spacious. It’s like slipping into a perfectly tailored suit—everything just feels right.
Let’s talk about the dashboard. It’s a masterpiece of design—sleek, uncluttered, but loaded with technology that would make any tech geek green with envy. The star of the show? Those dual touchscreens that are the heart of Audi’s MMI touch response system. The top 10.1-inch screen handles your entertainment and navigation, while the lower 8.6-inch screen is all about climate control and text input.
But here’s the kicker—these touchscreens aren’t just your average screens. Audi’s added haptic feedback, so each time you tap, it feels like you’re pressing a real button. It’s a small touch, but it’s the kind of thing that takes the experience from good to truly exceptional.

I’m 6’2”, so finding a comfortable driving position in an SUV can sometimes be a bit of a struggle. But not in the Q8. The driver’s seat feels like it was made for me, with plenty of headroom despite the coupe-like design.
But the real surprise? The back seat. I could stretch out back there like I was flying first class. The rear seats recline and slide, offering flexibility you don’t often find in an SUV. And the cargo space? I could fit my golf clubs, a weekend bag, and my partner’s shopping spree without even breaking a sweat. With 605 liters of space with the seats up and a whopping 1,755 liters when folded, it’s as roomy as they come.
Here’s something I like to do whenever I get into a new car: I close my eyes and run my hand along the dash. It tells you a lot about the car’s quality. In the Q8, it was like my fingers were in a sensory paradise—soft leather, cool metal, and in some trims, real wood that feels like it was freshly polished.
And those Valcona leather seats? They’re like sitting on butter—supportive, but soft. After a 3-hour drive to wine country, I got out feeling just as fresh as when I started. That, to me, is what real luxury is all about.

But you know what really steals the show in the Q8? The ambient lighting. With 30 different colors to choose from, you can set the mood for any drive. Late-night cruise? Go with a calming blue. Early morning dash to the office? A vibrant red to match your espresso.
And if you’re into your music as much as I am, the Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System is a must-have. With 23 speakers and 1,920 watts, it doesn’t just play music—it brings it to life. I found myself hearing new details in songs I’ve listened to a thousand times before.
They say the devil’s in the details, but in the Q8, that’s where the magic happens. Take the air vents, for example. Adjust the climate on the lower screen, and the vents physically open or close. It’s oddly satisfying to watch.
Or the virtual cockpit display—it’s customizable to the nth degree. Want a full-width map? Done. Prefer just your speed and RPM? Easy. It’s like having a personal assistant right there behind the wheel.
I’ve driven my fair share of cars. Some good, some great, and some that made me wonder why I do this for a living. But the Audi Q8? It reminded me why I fell in love with cars in the first place.
It’s not just an interior—it’s an experience. One that combines cutting-edge tech with old-school craftsmanship in a way that few others do. It’s the kind of space that makes you want to take the long way home, just because you can.
So, here’s my tip: next time you’re near an Audi dealership, do yourself a favor. Sit in a Q8. Play with the touchscreens. Stretch out in the back seat. Crank up the B&O system. You might just find yourself rethinking what luxury really means.
What do you think? Does the Q8’s interior catch your eye? Is there a feature that stands out to you? Drop a comment below—I’d love to hear your thoughts and keep the conversation going. After all, sharing our love for these amazing machines is what it’s all about, right?
