Bike NOC
Summarize and analyze this article with:

When buying or selling a bike, especially if the transaction involves moving the bike to a different state, you might need a bike NOC (No Objection Certificate). An NOC is essential for re-registering the vehicle in another state and ensuring compliance with local laws. Fortunately, the process of obtaining an NOC for your bike has been simplified thanks to online services. For those buying or selling bikes on OLX, understanding how to quickly obtain a NOC can make the transaction smoother and more secure. This comprehensive and simple guide will walk you through the process of getting an NOC for your bike online, from start to finish.

Importance of Getting NOC for Bike

Obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for your bike is a vital step in ensuring smooth transactions and transfers. Whether you’re selling your bike, moving to a new city, or transferring your bike to another state, the NOC plays a crucial role. Here’s why getting an NOC is essential and how it impacts various aspects of bike ownership.

To sell your bike and cancel the funding in the RC

If you want to transfer the bike to another State or get a new registration you must follow the procedures outlined in the Motor Vehicle Act.

How to apply for a bike NOC online?

The procedure for applying for Bikes NOC from RTO NOC and Bank NOC is different

RTO NOC for Bike

Step 1: Visit the government Vahan Citizen Service website

Step 2: Select the state and RTO

Step 3: Click on ‘Log on to Avail Services’

Step 4: Now click on ‘ Application for No Objection certificate’

Step 5: Enter your bike’s registration number and chassis number

Step 6: Click on ‘Validate Registration number/Chassis number’

Step 7:  Your application form will be generated

Step 8: Enter the details of the Bike Insurance on the form

Step 9: Enter the new RTO state code and save it

Step 10: Pay the application fees and print it

Step 11: Visit the RTO with NOC, fee receipt, and required document to process your, request

Bank NOC for Bike

Step 1: Visit the Bank’s website

Step 2: Log in to your account and download the Bike Bank NOC online

Step 3: Verify Loan Closure

  • Ensure that all dues and the loan amount are fully paid off.
  • Obtain a loan closure certificate if applicable.

Step 4: Follow Up with the Bank

  • Contact the bank to confirm receipt of your NOC request and inquire about the processing time.

Step 5: Collect the NOC

  • Once processed, either download the NOC from the bank’s website or collect the physical document from the bank branch.

Step 6: Submit NOC to the RTO

  • Provide the NOC to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for updating your bike’s registration details.

Procedure to cancel the NOC

Step 1: Visit the new RTO in the NOC that was issued and obtain the Non-Utilization Certificate (NUC)

Step 2: Submit the NUC at the RTO where your bike was originally registered to cancel the NOC

Since the No Objection Certificate is a legal document proving your complete repayment of the two-wheeler loan, getting one for your bike from the bank is important. The NOC is necessary if you relocate to a different state or within the state because your bike must be registered with the new RTO for it to be registered under its authority.

If you fail to provide the NOC, the new RTO will not register your bike. You must provide the bank’s NOC to register the bike in the new owner’s name. Without the bank’s NOC, the RTO will not remove the lien, preventing the transfer of ownership.

Documents required to get NOC for Bike

  • A copy of vehicle registration certificate (RC) and Insurance policy
  • Certificate of Pollution Under Control (PUC)
  • Print of Engine and Chassis Number
  • Signature Identification of the Bike Owner
  • Owner’s photo, Identity proof, and Address Proof

Difference between NOC and PUC Certificate

The NOC is a valid certificate confirming that the bank or issuing agency has no issues with the information provided in the bike’s registration certificate. The Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, on the other hand, verifies the amount of pollution your bike generates and is also an instrument of law. The NOC is required if you wish to register your bike with a different RTO and remove or cancel the bike loan to the bank, even if the PUC certificate is required to ride your bike on public roads.

Takeaways

Obtaining an NOC for your bike is a critical step in ensuring that your vehicle is legally compliant when selling or moving it to another state. By following the steps outlined above, you can seamlessly secure an NOC online without the need to visit the RTO in person. This not only saves time but also simplifies the process significantly. Whether you’re buying or selling on OLX, having the correct documentation, like an NOC, ensures a smooth and lawful transaction, enhancing trust and convenience for all parties involved.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I move to a different State, is the NOC still necessary for my bike?

You’ll typically need scanned copies of your bike’s registration certificate (RC), pollution under control ( PUC) certificate, insurance policy, address proof, a form of identification (like Aadhaar card), and possibly a clearance certificate for any outstanding taxes or fines.
