Still, millions go through it each year. And for those landing in South Goa, it’s the easier option, even if it’s showing its age.

Kolkata’s airport, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International, has a history. Running since the 1920s. Around 1,640 acres now, and pretty important for Eastern India. It’s not the flashiest, but gets the job done. Flights keep increasing, the terminals have seen upgrades, and there’s a bit of old-school charm mixed in with newer systems.

Then Ranchi — not usually on these lists, but Birsa Munda Airport deserves the shout. Almost 1,570 acres, and really stepped up in the past few years. Serves Jharkhand and nearby areas. The name comes from a tribal freedom fighter, and the airport’s been growing steadily. Not too crowded, decent amenities, and slowly becoming a key connector in the East.

Mumbai’s airport is something else. Doesn’t matter what time it is — early morning or late night — it’s moving.
