Pune Metro, which opened for business in December 2016, promotes rapid, open transit and helps reduce crazy traffic in the city. 16 underutilized stations have been added to Pune Metro’s operating schedule as of March 2024, and current line extension is planned to pass through underutilized neighborhoods.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span>The Pune Metro was conceptualized in 2009, and the foundation stone was placed in December 2016. The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro), with an estimated cost of more than Rs 11,400 crore, has integrated both above-ground and below-ground options in the two partially functional corridors connecting Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Swargate and Vanaz to Ramwadi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span>In <\/span>March<\/span> 2024, Prime <\/span>Minister<\/span> Narendra Modi <\/span>essentially<\/span> introduced<\/span> Pune Metro 6 km <\/span>extend<\/span> from Ruby <\/span>Corridor<\/span> Clinic to Ramwadi. He <\/span>too<\/span> performed bhoomi pooja for 4.4 km Pimpri to Nigdi <\/span>extent<\/span>.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Prior<\/span>, in <\/span>August<\/span> 2023, the PM <\/span>introduced<\/span> Garware College Station to Ruby <\/span>Corridor<\/span> Clinic Station on the <\/span>Water<\/span> Line and Phugewadi to Shivajinagar on the Purple Line of Pune Metro. The European <\/span>Investment<\/span> Bank <\/span>too<\/span> affirmed<\/span> a \u20ac150 million 20-year <\/span>advance<\/span> to <\/span>bolster<\/span> the <\/span>development<\/span> of Pune city’s metro rail. The <\/span>project<\/span> was co-financed with Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement (AFD).<\/span>

\n<\/span>With the <\/span>later<\/span> introduction<\/span> of Ruby <\/span>Lobby<\/span> Clinic \u2013 Ramwadi <\/span>Extend<\/span>, around 26 stations are <\/span>presently<\/span> operational. These <\/span>incorporate<\/span> 11 stations on the Purple Line and 16 stations on the <\/span>Aqua<\/span> Line. The hours of operation are 13-14 hours presently on each line. Around 27 trains <\/span>are utilized<\/span> and the <\/span>duty<\/span> is between Rs 10 and Rs 20, with a <\/span>circular<\/span> trip costing Rs 30.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each metro will have three coaches, and over 900 trains are <\/span>evaluated<\/span> to be <\/span>handling<\/span> to help<\/span> the commute. Once <\/span>totally<\/span> operational, trains will be in <\/span>benefit<\/span> for 19 hours, from 5 am till 12 am <\/span>day by day<\/span>, running at a <\/span>greatest<\/span> speed of 80 km per hour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pune Metro stations: Phase 1<\/b><\/h2>\n

Corridor 1: Purple Line (PCMC-Swargate)<\/b><\/h3>\n

With 14 stations, the 17.4-kilometer Purple Line of the Pune Metro connects PCMC in the north to Swargate in the south. Of these, five stations are underground, covering around six km, while nine stations are raised, covering roughly 11.4 km.<\/span><\/p>\n

From PCMC to Phugewadi, the first seven kilometers of the line have five stations that are currently operational. On all days, the public can use the metro service from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. This line’s stations are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n
