The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro), with an estimated cost of more than Rs 11,400 crore, has integrated both above-ground and below-ground options in the two partially functional corridors connecting Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Swargate and Vanaz to Ramwadi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">March<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2024, Prime <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minister<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Narendra Modi <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">essentially<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">introduced<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Pune Metro 6 km <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">extend<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Ruby <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corridor<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Clinic to Ramwadi. He <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">too<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> performed bhoomi pooja for 4.4 km Pimpri to Nigdi <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">extent<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prior<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">August<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2023, the PM <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">introduced<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Garware College Station to Ruby <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corridor<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Clinic Station on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Water<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Line and Phugewadi to Shivajinagar on the Purple Line of Pune Metro. The European <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Investment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Bank <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">too<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">affirmed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a \u20ac150 million 20-year <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">advance<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bolster<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">development<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Pune city&#8217;s metro rail. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">project<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was co-financed with Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement (AFD).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">later<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">introduction<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Ruby <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lobby<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Clinic \u2013 Ramwadi <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extend<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, around 26 stations are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presently<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> operational. These <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">incorporate<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 11 stations on the Purple Line and 16 stations on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aqua<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Line. The hours of operation are 13-14 hours presently on each line. Around 27 trains <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are utilized<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">duty<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is between Rs 10 and Rs 20, with a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">circular<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> trip costing Rs 30.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each metro will have three coaches, and over 900 trains are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">evaluated<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">handling<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to help<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the commute. Of these, five stations are underground, covering around six km, while nine stations are raised, covering roughly 11.4 km.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From PCMC to Phugewadi, the first seven kilometers of the line have five stations that are currently operational. The elevated line has 16 stations and a length of 15.7 kilometers.
