job Description: SQL DBA -6+ Years, Location: Bangalore
 6+ years SQL Server DBA experience with minimum 1 year experience in SQL 2008
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Instance/Database creation, maintenance and administration
Database clustering and mirroring
Database software installation in clustered environment
Database security setup
Space allocation and management and space reorganization
DDL generation from Erwin data models and DDL implementation in database
Database Backup and recovery
Data copy/transfer techniques to copy data between databases
Database monitoring and tuning
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory environment
Power Shell and T-SQL scripting skills
Ability to multitask achieving high productivity and meet SLAs
High oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with infrastructure and client partners locally and in other locations

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform duties of the job as database administrator in activities of creation, maintenance, backups, restores, security setup and other related aspects of DBA
Ensure health, availability and recoverability of databases in production and non production environments
Automate and optimize routine tasks as required to meet SLAs, higher accuracy and productivity
Work under limited supervision executing the responsibilities of the job and ensure that all commitments and deliverables are met
Ensure that established standards, processes and best practices are adhered to
Maintain high customer satisfaction
Maintain strong technical skills in databases and related products, utilities, protocols and techniques
Perform other functions related to the assignment as required
