Description: Outline of duties to be performed during volunteer placement: -Take part in Medical Camp in rural village in punjab, India-Provide treatment, medicines and advice -Supervision of Orphanage children during meal and play times-Helping with school homework-Reading stories (in English)-Lead a children's devotional once a weekOther activities:-Visit to children's school-Stay at the Frishta Children?s Village campus (8 acre site)-Participate in food shopping in local markets-Visit Indian church congregations (Youth / English / Pujabi / Hindi).Sight Seeing Opportunities:-Visit to chandigarh attractions, ?The City Beautiful?, capital of Punjab-Visit to Shimla - journey by Himalayan small gauge heritage railway-Visit to delhi and Agra (Taj Mahal).Requirements:-Doctor or Nurse-Also some Child / Youth work experience, e.g. Sunday School teacher, Youth Club worker or parenting-Flexible attitude and open minded to new experiences and ideas-Focused, socially skilled, sensitive to others feelings and needs.
Additional Details: We held our first Medical Camp in March 2011, treating 200 people. It was great success and we would like to repeat it annually.
