Golder Associates India is planning to initiate services for innovative, cost:effective and reliable infrastructure design for underground mines and paste backfill, paste surface tailings disposal solutions. This field is an emerging specialist niche and Golder is currently the world leader in the provision of these types of services to premier mining and power generation clients worldwide. As part of Golder Associates worldwide, we have access to a full international team of integrated mining specialists.

Golder Associates delhi Office is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who has experience in the underground mining and/or surface Beneficiation plant environment. This position will include involvement with delivering technically challenging conceptual, feasibility, and detailed engineering design work that is primarily centered around paste backfill and surface disposal system design but will also include underground infrastructure design. The candidate should be familiar with underground mining with backfill and/or the equipment and systems required to produce underground backfill or dewatered tailings.

Specifically, the candidate should be familiar with as many of the following areas as possible and be interested in further developing a high level of expertise in those areas:

: Typical process plant equipment such as thickeners, filters, centrifugal pumps, compressors, agitators, silos, conveyors, reagent systems etc.
: Plant sizing and design criteria generation for equipment
: Piping and valving selection
: Pipe supports and stress analysis
: Paste piping and reticulation system design
: Paste plant design (thickening, filtration, mixing, pumping)
: Underground crushing, mine dewatering and shaft work
: Other mining infrastructure
The candidate will perform the following:
Provide leadership in the growth of the paste backfill and tailings disposal system practice in the India and adjoining countries. It is considered that this position would require approximately 20 business development and 80 technical execution of project work. It is expected that this group could grow significantly in next future and the candidate will be required to contribute significantly to the successful growth and execution of projects (with support from other Golder practitioners from around the world).
: Participate in a broad range of business development and client management functions including:
: Meeting with potential and existing clients to help identify solutions to their backfill and tailings disposal challenges
: Work with internal Golder staff from other disciplines to identify where personnel from the paste and thickened tailings
