A. Key purpose of the job


 


1) Technical selling by offering application engineering support to customers, value added product and technical services and help improve the customer?s competitiveness.


 


B. Profile of the job holder


 


1) Around 3 years of experience either in Application Engineering, Engineering Service, Design, Engineering technology, Technical evaluation/calculation, customer service, Customer Relationship or Manufacturing function in Engineering industry


2) bachelor of Engineering or Post Graduation in Business management


 


C. key responsibilities


 


1) Anticipate trends in New Business Development, technology development and sales inputs


2) Communicate new business opportunities with customers


3) Ensure periodic calibration of Application Engineering software


4) Ensure that the technical details of customers requirements are identified, compiled, recorded and analyzed


5) Handle product quality related issues with PDs /factories and interact with customers various departments


6) Liaise with sales personnel and customer service functions to provide techno-commercial solutions


7) Maintain close relationship with customers engineering management


8) Manage the portfolio of customer/technology related product development program for optimal profit


9) Monitor competitor activities in respect of products and technical development and define activity plan accordingly


10) Monitor customer approval tests conducted on prototypes/initial samples at customers premises/installations


11) Obtain customers product and commercial approvals in line with application proposals, product drawings, sample submitted and completed sample tests


12) Prepare Quality handbook as well as control the issue and change of formats and documents


13) Provide leadership in customer driven projects such as APQP and similar activities


14) Provide technical support to direct sales and new business development


15) Represent the voice of customer during Design FMEA & Process FMEA


16) Solve problems and resolve conflicts of the customers and manufacturing units
